Holiday Recitals on Saturday, December 8th at 2:00 p.m.
Please invite all your family and friends to our studio holiday recital. Please help your child prepare by holding mock recitals at home. Remember to rehearse the approach, the performance, and the bow. Each student is requested to bring their favorite holiday dish. I will be providing drinks, utensils, and plates. The recital/reception will last about 60 minutes. Please plan on attending the entire recital. Although your attendance is primarily for your own child, it is also pertinent to the other students as well. Please try not to compare, but encourage your child to listen and learn from the other children. The children should be dressed in their finest holiday clothes. The location for all three recitals will be at my home, , Houston, 77089.

Rehearsal for Holiday Recital this Sunday, Dec. 2nd at 6:00 p.m.
All students are required to attend this rehearsal Please plan on arriving on time and staying for the entire hour. Performing in front of an audience is not the same as performing in the comfort of your own living room. The children absolutely need to rehearse in front of an audience. We all want the children to perform at their very best at the recital. No parents please.

Holiday Vacation from December 22nd through January 2nd
I will be taking a break to spend time with my children from Monday, December 22nd through Tuesday, January 2nd. I will resume teaching on Wednesday, January 3rd.

OFMC Junior Festival will be on February 16 and 23. As announced in last month’s newsletter, I would like each of my students to participate in the Junior Festival. Please let me know asap if you have a preferred date for the festival. This is an incredible learning experience for the students. The event fees are due this month and they will be in this months’ tuition. Each event costs $18.

Houston Music Teachers Association Monthly Musicales
I recently joined the HMTA and have learned of many more musical opportunities for my students to enjoy. One of them is the monthly musical. This is recital at the Dowling Music Store in Houston, about 30 minutes from my home, where the students get to perform a piece for parents, friend and other teacher’s families. It is not a competition, just a performance opportunity. I think it would be a great goal for my students to perform one or both of the festival pieces which we will begin the lesson after the recital. The musical is on January 13, with an application deadline, which I will submit, on December 31. Let me know if you are interested in participating in this.
